Summary Description
The MST position functions as the point person for multimedia at school/cluster/consortium activities, including sound, lighting, and radio and TV engineering. It also facilitates training for students and staff in the mechanics of multimedia, effective use of equipment, and technical support for media specialists and other instructional staff.
The MST supports electronic/broadcast media in various spaces, provides technical and instructional support, and assists school administrators with related multimedia requirements. Physical demands include moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working from high places. Special requirements include availability for cluster/consortium schools, overtime work, and the use of personal vehicles for equipment transport.

- Grade 19 wage range: $31.35 - $46.19 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Effective technical assistance with multimedia technology
- Knowledge of radio, TV, cablecasting technology, streaming technology, audiovisual communications, auditorium, theatre production, video/filmmaking, lighting and sound systems
- Experience with multimedia equipment and program production, including audiovisual communications and theater production
- Knowledge of construction, operation, and first line maintenance of audiovisual, theatre, radio and TV related equipment
- Aptitude for learning new state-of-the-art industry equipment
- Expertise in maintaining and implementing safe operational practices, procedures, and training for the use of multimedia technology and facilities
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of and ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS)
Education, Training, And Experience
- Associates degree required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Considerable course work and/or combination of formal training in visual/fine/performing arts, media production, radio/television, theater production, or related fields
- Experience with multimedia equipment and program production, including audiovisual communications and theater production, in an instructional environment or client services is preferred
Certificate License
- Valid Maryland Class C non-commercial driver's license or equivalent
