About the role

As a Futures OTC Clearing VP, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing our clearing processes. You will work closely with clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to complete client documentation, coordinate functions, legal, and compliance on regulatory and market structure development, and collaborate with product and platform teams on Barclays’ capabilities in the cleared derivatives space. The role is central to delivering best-in-class products and services and providing strategic client and risk solutions across the full spectrum of the Prime Financing businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to optimize the Liquid Financing relationship and provide best-in-class service and escalation oversight.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Liquid Financing clients in areas such as trading, risk, billing, and reporting.
  • Provide expertise on industry and regulatory initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for clients, with a deep understanding of each client’s business mix, operational requirements, and product sensitivities.
  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements; and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes.
  • Lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, aligning with strategic and tactical priorities while balancing short- and long-term goals.
  • For individual contributors, serve as a subject matter expert within your discipline, guide technical direction, and lead collaborative, multi-year assignments.
  • Train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long-term profits, organizational risks, and strategic decisions.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Collaborate with other areas of the business to keep up to speed with business activity and strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills.

Requirements

  • Experience with US rules and regulations relating to futures, derivatives, and FX prime brokerage.
  • Knowledge of legal documentation governing futures, derivatives, and FX prime brokerage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of products, trading mechanics, and lifecycle events.

Skills

  • Knowledge of UK and EU regulations and products (highly valued).
  • Understanding of fixed income, prime brokerage, and US treasury market structure (highly valued).
  • Experience with client onboarding processes (highly valued).
  • Risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology skills.

Pay

Base salary range: $150,000 – $225,000. The range includes only base salary or base hourly rate and does not include other types of compensation or benefits.
