About the role

This could be the role for you if you are experienced in working with children, enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds, and have mentored youth.

Responsibilities

  • Go through the camp curriculum and learn to plan for the class
  • Create a positive and safe environment for students to grow
  • Work with children to determine their skill sets and conduct daily STEM classes based on the curriculum
  • Provide feedback to parents after camp sessions
  • Follow opening and closing duties daily as needed
  • Clean the dojo throughout the day to maintain corporate standards
  • Report weekly to the Assistant Center Director or Director on progress
  • Submit weekly reports to the Director/Owner detailing the day’s activities and productivity in the dojo

Requirements

  • Experience in creating engaging video game experiences
  • Experience in 3D modeling and animation, game design, and storyboarding
  • Experience with Unity, Maya, and GitHub (a plus)
  • Working history with children aged 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.)
  • Experience working with the general public
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, or child care
  • Works well with others; collaborates effectively
  • Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
  • Must be fun to work with and enjoy working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
