About the role

Communicate with parents and campers before, during, and after the camps.
Coach and mentor kids in coding and STEM curriculum, including Minecraft, Roblox, block-based languages, robotics, 3D modeling, and more.
Complete training courses for our proprietary curriculum.
Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow.
Provide feedback to parents on student progress.

Responsibilities

  • Think on the fly and be perceptive to center dynamics, instructor needs, parent requests, and kid's needs.
  • Cooperate with parents and campers before, during, and after the camps.
  • Coach and mentor kids in coding and STEM curriculum, including Minecraft, Roblox, block-based languages, robotics, 3D modeling, and more.
  • Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow.
  • Provide feedback to parents on student progress.
  • Perform extra duties as needed, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining center equipment and facilities.
  • Clean classroom and bathrooms throughout the day to ensure cleanliness.
  • Report as needed to Center Director or lead instructor with respect to the day’s activities, efficiency & productivity in the classroom.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, organize, or lead within workgroups, clubs, teams, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about, or willing to learn, introductory concepts in coding.
  • Demonstrated experience with children ages 7-14 in babysitting, childcare, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.
  • Works well with others; enjoys collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be fun to work with and enjoy fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently.

Qualifications

  • Flexible schedules.
  • Summer Break (Late May-Early August).
  • Anytime there are elementary school breaks.

Skills

  • Coding and technology skills: knowledgeable about, or willing to learn, introductory concepts in coding. Skills in Minecraft, Roblox, robotics, or 3D printing are a plus!
  • Education/childcare experience: demonstrated experience with children ages 7-14 in babysitting, childcare, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.
  • Works well with others; enjoys collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
