Future Opening: Assistant Manager Cafe

About the role

Manage shifts and delegate tasks, restock the register nightly, take deposits to the bank, assist with inventory management, and communicate with managers/owners regarding inventory and employee performance.

Responsibilities

• Act as manager when manager is unavailable
• In charge of shifts and delegating tasks
• Restock the register nightly for the correct change
• Take deposits to the bank several times a week and maintain an accurate count of petty cash
• Aid in managing inventory and placing orders
• Aid in scheduling and gathering employee feedback
• Lead the team, ensuring food is prepared accurately and served promptly
• Show exemplary knowledge of the job and excellent customer service
• Deal with upset customers/problems with food politely, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Accept deliveries, verifying completeness and accuracy, or issuing refunds
• Communicate with managers/owners about inventory status, employee performance, and new ideas
• Manage the break schedule, ensuring employees are present and taking breaks appropriately
• Attend Management Meetings
• Assist with interviews, evaluations, and training
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers

Qualifications

• Become food certified
• Must be able to handle a basic computer, POS system; handle cash and credit cards
• Follow health, sanitary, and safety requirements
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, occasionally lift heavy boxes, move quickly, and have a sense of urgency
• Maintain a clean and work-appropriate personal appearance
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to work well with others
• Leadership abilities and management experience a plus
• Restaurant experience a plus

• Ability to follow recipes and prepare food in a timely and sanitary manner
