Furnace Operator - 3rd Shift

Management$20–$30/hrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: Use

for section headings (e.g., About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). We must not repeat job title as heading. We need to include sections only when posting has real specific content. We need to preserve all substantive info, not invent or summarize away detail. Remove boilerplate (cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, application instructions). Also remove statements like "The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature..." etc. Also remove EEO statement. Also remove "Bodycote has a longstanding commitment..." maybe not boilerplate? It's somewhat generic but maybe keep? It's not a required section; but it's not a list of duties/requirements/benefits. It's more about company description. Might be considered boilerplate? The instruction: remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The company description may be considered not boilerplate but it's generic fluff. However we need to preserve all substantive information; but we can decide to keep it as a paragraph maybe under "About the role"? The instruction says we can use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, etc. So we could have an About the role section with the introductory paragraph about Bodycote and the position summary. Then Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions). Then Qualifications (including education, ITAR, etc). Then Skills? Might combine with Qualifications. Then Pay & Benefits Information: we have pay range and benefits. So we need separate Pay and Benefits sections? The instruction: Use headings for Pay, Benefits, Schedule. We have pay range and benefits details. Also schedule: hours 10:30pm – 7:00am, Monday-Friday. Also mention eligibility for overtime, shift differential. So we should have Schedule section. Benefits section: list benefits. Pay section: hourly pay range, starting pay determination, non-exempt, overtime eligibility, shift differential. We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". We have actual pay range, so okay. We must not repeat job title as heading. Not include Job ID. We must not include duplicated lines. We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences. Thus produce something like:

About the role

Our people are the heart of our business. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. • Must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders (ITAR compliance).
  • Ability to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
Maybe also include Physical & Mental Demands as a section? Could be under Requirements or Qualifications? The instruction says we can use headings like Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. Physical & Mental Demands could be under Requirements. But we already have Qualifications; we could add a Requirements section for physical demands. However we must not create thin sections. We could combine physical demands into Qualifications as bullet points. But we already have qualifications list; we could add more bullet points for physical demands. That would be okay. But we need to preserve all substantive info; we must not lose physical demands. So we can add them under Qualifications or a separate Requirements section. Since we already have Qualifications, we could rename that section to "Requirements & Qualifications" but instruction says use headings like Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. We could have both Requirements and Qualifications sections. But we need to avoid thin sections. Let's see: we have qualifications (education, ITAR, forklift, language). Physical demands: standing, bend, lift 35 lbs, exposure to heat/fumes/noise/humidity, cognitive capacity, communication, visual acuity, hearing. That's a decent list; could be a Requirements section. Thus we could have:

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
And Qualifications section for education, ITAR, forklift, language, overtime/shift. But we also have "Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc." That could be under Qualifications. Thus we have: Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc. - Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification. - Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. - Must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders (ITAR compliance). - Ability to work overtime or any shift, including weekends. Now Pay section:

Pay

  • Hourly pay range: $20‑$30 per hour.
  • Starting pay determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
  • Position classified as non‑exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.
  • Eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential.
  • Eligible for a $1,500 sign‑on retention bonus.
But note the sign-on bonus was mentioned earlier; we could include it in Pay or About the role. It's substantive; we can include in Pay. Benefits section:

Benefits

  • Employee and family medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Company‑paid life and disability.
  • HSA/FSA options.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Benefits eligibility begins on day 61 of employment.
Schedule section:

Schedule

  • Hours: 10:30 pm – 7:00 am, Monday‑Friday.
  • Full‑time, 40+ hours per week.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
We must avoid duplication: we already mentioned overtime in Qualifications and Schedule; but it's okay to mention again if needed but we should avoid duplicated lines. The instruction: remove duplicated lines. So we should not repeat the same sentence exactly. We can mention overtime in Schedule but not also in Qualifications if it's duplicate. However the Qualifications list includes "Ability to work overtime or any shift, including weekends." That's also in Schedule. To avoid duplication, we could keep it only in Schedule and remove from Qualifications. But we need to preserve all substantive info; we can keep it in either place but not both. Let's keep it in Schedule and remove from Qualifications. Thus Qualifications list will not include overtime. Now check for any other duplicated lines: The sign-on bonus appears in About the role and Pay; we could keep it only in Pay to avoid duplication. But the About the role paragraph currently includes "This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus!" If we move it to Pay, we should remove from About the role to avoid duplication. However the About the role paragraph also includes other info about company and position summary. We can keep the paragraph but remove the bonus sentence. Let's do that. Now check for any other duplicated lines: "Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification." appears only once. Good. Now ensure we didn't include boilerplate: Removed EEO statement, removed "The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature..." etc. Also removed "Bodycote has a longstanding commitment..." maybe it's not boilerplate but it's generic fluff; but we can keep it? It's not a specific duty/requirement/benefit/pay/schedule. It's more about company values. Could be considered boilerplate but not explicitly listed. Safer to remove it as it's not essential to the job description. The instruction: remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. This statement is not exactly those categories, but it's still generic. However we need to preserve ALL substantive information. Is that statement substantive? It's about company commitment to safe, quality-oriented work environment. Might be considered substantive but not required. I'd lean to keep it maybe under About the role as a sentence. But we already have About the role paragraph with company description. We could add a sentence: "Bodycote has a longstanding commitment to provide a safe, quality-oriented, and productive work environment." That is substantive. Let's keep it. Now also we have "Our services are a vital part of many manufacturing processes..." That's also generic company description; could be kept in About the role. But we must avoid too much fluff. However it's substantive about what they do. Might be okay to keep. But we need to avoid making About the role too long; but it's okay. Let's craft About the role paragraph: "Our people are the heart of our business. As the world’s largest provider of thermal processing services, Bodycote employs thousands of highly skilled staff around the globe, including some of the best engineers, scientists, and technicians in the industry. Come join our team! Position Summary: Based in Ipswich, MA, the Heat Treater will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.
