About the Fellowship
The Furnace Fellowship is a one-year, 40 hour per week, residential research and professional development program at historic Catoctin Furnace in western Maryland. Each year two new Fellows are invited to join the site and participate in the research and interpretation of the industry and workers of this important early iron industry National Register site.
Fellowship Details
- One-year residential program at Catoctin Furnace in western Maryland
- 40 hours per week
- Live in a newly restored 1820 iron worker house in the heart of the historic village
- Receive a monthly stipend
Fellowship Activities
- Conduct significant primary research
- Participate in seminars
- Engage in visitor interaction
- Work on hands-on projects
- Gain professional museum management experience
