Funeral Home Assistant

About the role

We help families navigate some of life's most important moments with compassion, dignity, and exceptional care, and we're looking for dependable Funeral Home Assistants to become part of our dedicated team. This part-time, on-call position is well suited for retirees or individuals with backgrounds in law enforcement, firefighting, EMS, healthcare, or anyone who has a genuine heart for serving others. No funeral service experience is required, training will be provided. As our team grows, an on-call rotation schedule will be assigned.

Requirements

• Part-time position working on a call-in basis as needed
• Must have a valid driver's license and an accident-free driving record
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Must be able-bodied and capable of standing for long periods as needed
• Must be able to perform work that can, at times, be physically demanding

Responsibilities

• Assisting funeral directors as needed
• Working funerals and visitations at the funeral home, churches, other gathering places, and cemeteries
• Providing transportation using funeral vehicles, both locally and out of town
• Assisting with errands and additional duties as needed, including washing funeral vehicles, picking up death certificates, and other related tasks
• Helping the team provide respectful, dependable service to families during an important time in their lives
