About the role

As the volunteer Fundraising & Stewardship Lead, you will be part of a committee of 10 to 15 volunteers organizing the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure—a 5k or 1k walk or run taking place on Sunday, October 5, 2025. This leadership role involves developing strategies to increase revenue, organizing volunteer-led fundraising events, managing communications, and stewarding key supporters.

Responsibilities

• Create a Fundraising & Stewardship strategy to increase revenue.
• Organize volunteer-led fundraising event(s) in support of the CIBC Run for the Cure.
• Manage the local CIBC Run for the Cure email account.
• Recognize and steward key supporters through meaningful touchpoints.
• Identify local storytellers.
• Attend local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly).
• Complete independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 6-8 hours per month).
• Be available over the event weekend.

Requirements

• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivation and effective time management.
• Aged 18 or older.
• Complete the Canadian Cancer Society code of conduct.
• 6-month commitment (May through October 2025).
