Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and mission-aligned messages for donors and partners.
- Interest in fundraising, philanthropy, or development work, ideally with some exposure to donor research, nonprofit organizations, or campaigns.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including careful attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and comfort working with spreadsheets or basic databases.
- Research skills, including the ability to identify and evaluate potential donors, grantmakers, and aligned institutions using online tools and public information.
- Professionalism in email and virtual meeting communication, with a collaborative approach and respect for diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
- Genuine interest in books, publishing, or the literary arts, and alignment with Casa Carlini’s mission and values.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
- Prior experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, or community organizing is beneficial but not required; students and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Helping draft donor outreach materials.
- Preparing fundraising emails and campaign copy.
- Aiding in the organization of virtual fundraising events or campaigns.
- Maintaining donor and prospect records.
- Tracking communications.
- Supporting the creation of simple reports on fundraising progress.
- Collaborating closely with leadership to refine messaging, learn best practices in nonprofit-style fundraising, and contribute ideas for building a sustainable donor and supporter community.
