About the role
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the university community for the implementation and optimization of the University’s degree audit system including scribing, maintenance of coding as needed for academic program requirements including annual maintenance and course catalog updates for new and existing programs.
- Troubleshoots and researches scribing issues and provides problem resolution pertaining to academic requirements and exceptions processing.
- Maintains security and system settings for the degree audit system including the approval of requests for security/access into the system as well as granting user access in Answers and updating degree audit shell tables as needed.
- Provides training to faculty and staff for functions within the degree audit system as needed or by request from schools and colleges.
- Reviews and maintains process documentation, ensuring that it is updated on the degree audit website and Answers website for staff, faculty and students to reference.
- Maintains and initiates process improvements within degree audit system which includes but is not limited to: diagnose and correct problems existing in the degree audit system; contact degree audit vendor support center as needed with issues and perform corrective actions.
- Serves as a liaison between the Registrar’s Office and the ITS department to enhance performance of the degree audit system; identify necessary upgrades; create and implement test plans for such upgrades.
- Collaborates with Assistant Registrar to oversee successful regular system upgrades.
- Works closely with the Assistant Registrar for Degree Audit Systems, and across the office analyst team, developing and leveraging institutional reporting tools for Degree Audit data analytics.
- Provides clear communication to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives, supporting institutional objectives including regulatory compliance, program assessment, student retention, and student success.
- Develops and maintains training and documentation that supports community familiarity and understanding of available analytics and their value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of relevant work experience; or Associates Degree and eight years relevant work experience.
- Advanced technical, analytical, investigative and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience working with Student Information System, including degree audit system and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge and experience with Student Information Systems in higher education (PeopleSoft preferred).
- Experience with Query/report writing.
- Advanced technical knowledge of and experience with a degree audit system (Degree Works preferred).
- Ability to analyze curriculum requirements, interpret and translate to coding language for Degree Audit.
- Knowledge of curriculum, academic programs structures in a university setting.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures as they relate to the Office of the Registrar.
- Experience in training multiple constituencies in a diverse organization.
