Functional Analyst

About the role

The Functional Change Analyst will serve as a core member of the BSM project team, formally classified as a functional resource but with a significant focus on end user adoption and change readiness. This role combines functional expertise in process mapping, requirements gathering, and technical translation with hands on support for change management activities, including training design and delivery, communication development, user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination, and quick reference guide (QRG) development. The specialist will act as a bridge between the functional team, change management, and end users to ensure that BSM capabilities are understood, adopted, and used effectively over the long term.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a functional subject matter expert (SME) for supporting requirements gathering and process mapping.
• Understand and document end to end business processes, including upstream and downstream impacts, in alignment with the BSM solution design.
• Provide functional input to requirements, design decisions, and enhancements throughout the project lifecycle and into steady state.
• Partner with product owners, solution architects, and technical teams to validate that business needs are accurately reflected in system configuration and design.
• Participate in issue triage and resolution, providing functional insight to analyze root causes and recommend solutions or workarounds.
• Work closely with the BSM Change Management team to translate functional changes into clear, user focused impacts (who is impacted, how, and when).
• Contribute to stakeholder analysis by identifying key user groups, roles, and change impacts within your functional area.
• Provide functional content for change communications, FAQs, and other end user materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Act as a functional "voice of the user" in project discussions, highlighting adoption risks and recommending practical mitigation strategies.
• Support change readiness assessments by providing input on user preparedness, risks, and support needs.

Training Design, Development, and Delivery

• Co-design training strategies and curricula with the Change/Training lead for the BSM project, following industry best practices (e.g., role based training, scenario based learning, and just in time training).
• Develop training materials, including slide decks, demonstration scripts, exercises, and hands on labs that reflect real world scenarios and business processes.
• Create and maintain Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), job aids, and step by step instructions that are clear, concise, and user friendly.
• Deliver and facilitate training sessions, ensuring content is accessible to different experience levels.

Pay

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 – $172,400.00.
