Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist

About the role

South Side Flats Animal Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to become the welcoming face of our practice. This is a full-time position that requires you to be available every other Saturday. Our reception team plays an essential role in creating a positive experience for every client—from the first phone call to the moment they head home with their pet.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
• Check patients in and out and process payments
• Maintain accurate client and patient records
• Help coordinate prescription requests and follow-up care
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and clinical team members
• Provide compassionate support during both routine and emotional visits
• Keep the reception area organized, welcoming, and running smoothly
• Monitor and manage the hospital’s email inbox, responding promptly and professionally and directing messages to the appropriate team member
• Ensure patients are scheduled for their next recommended visit before leaving the hospital, supporting continuity of care

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
• A friendly, compassionate, and professional approach
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• The ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Dependability and a team-focused attitude

Previous veterinary or medical reception experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
