About the role
The Residential Counselor provides support, skill teaching, supervision, and community integration to adults with mental illness who reside in our group home. This farmhouse sits in an idyllic and peaceful area of Greenland, NH. This role works closely with residents without the requirement of clinical care, which offers a rewarding but not daunting environment. It is a very safe environment with incredible staff support.
Responsibilities
- Supports individuals with mental illness in their daily lives
- Teaches and reinforces skills necessary for independent living
- Supervises residents to ensure safety and compliance with group home policies
- Facilitates community integration activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
- One year of experience working with persons with mental illness
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment options
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
