Full-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Medical Oncology - Vassar Brothers Medical Center (75 minutes north of New York City)

About the role

Vassar Brothers Medical Center, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in their growing Medical Oncology team. This position will coordinate, oversee, and provide advanced nursing care to medical oncology patients.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with physicians and nurses and is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients.
• Conducts comprehensive and episodic health history and physical assessments of patients.
• Oversees treatment infusions and supportive care needs.
• Writes orders within the limits of the practice agreement.
• Maintains clinical documentation according to group practice guidelines.
• Participates in clinical quality and research initiatives as needed.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans.
• Participates in learning opportunities.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New York.
• Experience in oncology preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field.
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• At least two years of relevant clinical experience.
