Position Overview: Conducts laboratory specimen processing, performs diagnostic tests, and ensures quality control to support accurate disease diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze specimens according to protocols, performing routine and specialized tests independently.Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, calibrate instruments, and document results.Monitor quality control procedures, evaluate test performance, and escalate issues when results are out of range.Adhere to regulatory, safety, and compliance standards, including proficiency testing and accreditation requirements.Manage supply inventories, support performance improvement initiatives, and assist in data collection and analysis.Perform phlebotomy when needed and communicate effectively with patients and staff.Follow policies on confidentiality, safety, and ethical standards, ensuring patient privacy and workplace safety. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in medical technology, laboratory science, or related field.Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license or within 180 days of hire.ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification required within 90 days of hire.Proficiency in computer skills and data entry, effective communication, analytical thinking, and good judgment.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to biological hazards. Physical & Environmental Demands: Ability to exert physical effort, work in patient care areas, and handle potentially infectious specimens with occupational safety precautions.
