Full-Time Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

A Laboratory Scientist responsible for performing and analyzing routine and specialized laboratory tests to support diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prepares specimens for testing.
• Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and evaluates results.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and ensures quality control.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Adheres to regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and manages supplies efficiently.
• Communicates effectively with team members and patients, demonstrating good judgment and interpersonal skills.
• Follows organizational policies, supports compliance initiatives, and maintains current knowledge of relevant laws and standards.

Key Duties

• Conducts accurate testing and maintains quality standards.
• Documents results and supports laboratory and organizational goals.
• Ensures compliance with safety, legal, and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related sciences.
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license (or within 180 days of hire).
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification within 90 days of hire.
