Position Overview: The role involves receiving, preparing, and performing laboratory tests on specimens to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include performing quality control, maintaining equipment, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The technician may also perform phlebotomy and adapt interactions to diverse patient populations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in medical technology, laboratory science, or related field; current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license or within 180 days of hire; ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification within 90 days of hire.Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in computer applications, effective communication, analytical problem-solving, good judgment, and interpersonal skills. Key Duties: Conduct and interpret routine and specialized tests independently, analyze quality control data, troubleshoot equipment, maintain safety and compliance standards, participate in performance improvement, manage inventory, and ensure patient privacy. Ability to work with specimens containing infectious materials and adhere to safety protocols is essential. The role requires staying updated on regulations, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment. Physical demands include lifting and exposure to biological hazards. The position aims to support quality patient care through precise laboratory work and adherence to standards.
