About the role
The MDS Nurse is responsible for accurately completing and maintaining Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) components, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations. They ensure assessments accurately reflect residents' clinical status and support individualized care plans.
Responsibilities
- Performing comprehensive resident assessments and documentation
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards
- Supporting care planning processes based on assessment data
Qualifications and skills
- RN license with at least one year of assessment experience preferred
- Knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory standards
- Strong assessment, independent working, and leadership skills
- CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
