About the role
The MDS Nurse is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) components, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. They support individualized care by reflecting each resident’s clinical status and maintaining regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Complete Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) components, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Support individualized care by accurately reflecting each resident’s clinical status
- Maintain regulatory standards through accurate documentation
Qualifications
- Experience with MDS/RAI processes preferred
- Knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, Quality Measures, and care planning
- Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance
- Strong assessment skills and ability to work independently
- Must be an RN with at least one year of experience
- Holding current CPR certification or certification within 90 days of employment
