About the role
The MDS Nurse is responsible for accurately completing Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) components, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. They ensure assessments accurately reflect residents' clinical status to support individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Prior MDS/RAI experience preferred
- Knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, Quality Measures, and care planning processes
- Understanding of RAI process, PPS principles, and Case Mix systems
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance
- Strong independent functioning and leadership skills
Licenses and certifications
- RN with at least one year of experience and excellent assessment skills preferred
- Current CPR certification or within 90 days of employment
