Full Time Manager of Student Accounts
About the role
The Manager of Student Accounts oversees the student accounts receivable function at Lorain County Community College. This includes managing billing, collections, payment plans, third-party contracts, federal fund disbursements, and annual IRS Form 1098-T reporting. The position also involves supporting program and financial audits, maintaining and reconciling accounts related to student financial activity, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, and assisting with personnel and service evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of student billing and College Credit Plus billing
- Collection and payment plan management
- Third-party contract administration
- Federal fund disbursements and IRS Form 1098-T reporting
- Auditing support for various programs
- Maintaining and reconciling accounts related to student financial activity
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
- Assisting with personnel and service evaluations
- Serving students, parents, outside agencies, and members of the college community
- Collaborating with Student Financial Aid and other administrative and student service departments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Three to five years of accounting experience
- Experience using financial accounting software systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable and collections processes
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, assess operations, and make sound decisions
Qualifications
- Minimum salary of $79,600, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package
- Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience in higher education accounts receivable operations preferred
- Previous experience as a Bursar, Manager of Student Accounts, or similar supervisory role preferred
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions preferred
- Experience with fund accounting preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
