About the role

The Lead Server is responsible for ensuring the residents’ dining experience is pleasant and positive, providing the highest-quality dining service that considers resident preferences and exceptional customer service, while maintaining dining areas, seating residents, and serving meals. They also oversee the work of other Servers during meal service, ensuring smooth operation, maintaining service standards, providing guidance when needed, and assisting with all aspects of dining services as required. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a pay rate of $23–$25 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a point person for Servers during shift, overseeing work during meal service, serving as a communication link relaying orders, special requests, and providing guidance when needed.
• Assist in training staff, imparting knowledge about procedures, menu items, and service standards.
• Address and resolve minor issues or resident concerns that may arise during meal service, escalating more complex problems to the Supervisor.
• Assist in inventory management, ensuring dining room supplies are replenished as necessary, and contributing to the overall readiness and setup of the dining areas.
• Assist in food preparations for special meals and events.
• Attend daily pre-meal meetings and taste food.
• Fulfill the responsibilities and perform all the duties of the Server job description.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests following established safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Understand and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations, and company policies and procedures concerning the department.
• Promote and lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication through consistent mentoring, coaching, and recognition program utilization, in alignment with MBK principles and core values.
