About the role
Seeking a Lead Registered Dietitian (RD) to oversee nutritional care in a skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor residents’ nutritional status, develop care plans, and provide recommendations to medical staff.
- Evaluate residents’ needs related to nutrition support, skin integrity, and weight management.
- Coordinate procurement of nutrition supplies and supplements with vendors and department heads.
- Monitor meal services to ensure compliance with diet modifications and educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition concepts.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of dietary care plans and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to adjust resident plans.
- Work with Speech-Language Pathologists for diets related to dysphagia and review menu changes to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
- Update diet orders and menus daily, supervise dietary staff, conduct quality audits, and ensure regulatory compliance on weight monitoring.
- Communicate regularly with team members to provide high-quality resident care.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian certification
- Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal guidelines
- Proficiency with EMR and menu software
