Full Time Lead Infusion RN

About the Role

The Infusion Lead RN will direct patient care, provide clinical oversight, and offer operational support in an outpatient gastroenterology infusion center. This role ensures care is delivered based on Infusion Nurses Society guidelines, standards of care, and federal and state laws and regulations, alongside Allied Digestive Health policies and procedures.

Preferred experience includes infusions and IV certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight for infusion center nursing staff.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, promoting evidence-based nursing practice and professional development.
• Assist with onboarding, orientation, training, and competency validation of new clinical staff.
• Model exceptional patient care and professionalism while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Coordinate daily staffing assignments and workflow to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Deliver direct nursing care, including administration of intravenous medications, biologics, and other infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and initiate appropriate interventions in emergency situations.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, side effects, and follow-up care.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history, chief complaint, physical assessment including IV information, and gather pertinent health data through physical assessments and patient records.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of NY.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a registered nurse.
• Previous supervisory/lead nursing experience.

Skills

• Works well with both medical staff and patients to ensure a safe, quality experience.
• Knowledge of pertinent medical and drug information to examine and treat gastroenterological patients.
• Knowledge of gastroenterological conditions, treatments, and standards of care.
• Comfortable multitasking with sharp attention to detail.
• Ability to perform duties accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
• Exemplary patient service skills, displaying courteousness and respect.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, maintaining patience under stressful situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills: proficiency in electronic medical records and MS Office.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA laws and the ability to follow these guidelines.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional surgical environment within a medical office or hospital. The role may involve exposure to infections, communicable diseases, and hazardous substances and materials. Standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines) and medical equipment are used.

Dress attire is as determined by the care center.
