About the role

The Lead Cook is responsible for preparing food using standard recipes and guidelines while adhering to food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures. They safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, and grills, and may supervise and delegate tasks to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Training staff on food safety and cooking techniques
  • Setting up workstations, measuring, chopping, and preparing ingredients
  • Cooking and garnishing food, arranging portions, and storing food properly
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
  • Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring safety protocols
  • Producing work schedules and production records

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Food safety certification
  • Effective communication and basic math skills

Physical demands

The role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, and extended standing, and may require PPE.
