About the Role

Rasmussen University is seeking an accomplished Master’s or Doctorate-prepared nurse passionate about helping nursing students succeed in meeting their educational goals. This on-site position offers a fulfilling yet challenging career opportunity in a growing, fast-paced nursing program with flexible work schedules. Instructors receive ongoing training and support to build teaching, presentation, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in a variety of modalities while promoting and supporting the vision and mission of Rasmussen University.
  • Teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter, equaling a full-time work schedule.
  • Use effective teaching strategies and multiple techniques to create an engaging, student-centered learning environment, including synchronous learning sessions.
  • Ensure clarity, relevance, and connection of class session objectives to course performance.
  • Maintain an organized classroom and efficient use of class time.
  • Demonstrate mastery of subject matter and effectively articulate concepts to students.
  • Play an integral role in curriculum development and assessment for your area of expertise.
  • Collaborate with the Dean to create a classroom presence that supports student success.
  • Provide student support and outreach through synchronous or asynchronous communication to help students achieve learning objectives.
  • Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as designated by the Dean.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (required); Doctorate preferred.
  • Active Kansas RN license that has never been encumbered.
  • Active CPR certification administered by either the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross.
  • 1 year of clinical experience as an RN (required); 2+ years preferred.
  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.
  • Proof of professional licenses/certifications, official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution, and applicable faculty immunization documentation required.
