About the role

Instructors teach courses in various modalities while promoting and supporting the vision and mission of Rasmussen University. Faculty typically teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter, equating to a full-time work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Use effective teaching strategies and multiple techniques to create an environment conducive to learning.
  • Foster high levels of student engagement through activities, community building, and student-centered learning, including synchronous sessions.
  • Ensure clarity, relevance, and connection of class objectives to course performance.
  • Maintain an organized classroom and efficient use of class time.
  • Demonstrate mastery of subject matter and effectively articulate concepts to students.
  • Play an integral role in curriculum development and assessment for your area of expertise.
  • Support student success through availability for synchronous or asynchronous communication and meetings.
  • Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as designated by the Dean.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Active Minnesota RN license that has never been encumbered.
  • Active CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • 1 year of clinical experience as an RN (2+ years preferred).
  • Previous teaching/training experience (preferred).
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.
  • Proof of professional licenses/certifications, official transcripts, and applicable faculty immunization documentation required.
