Full Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)

About the role

Visiting Angels of Wall is hiring a Full Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support elderly and home-care clients in Southern Monmouth County, including areas like Tinton Falls, Manasquan, Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Neptune, and others. This role involves helping clients maintain their independence and dignity while recovering or living at home.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, visiting the doctor, and taking walks
• Acting quickly in medical emergencies and reporting health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
