About the role
The Dining Room Supervisor plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure a quality dining experience by greeting and seating residents and guests, overseeing dining room staff, and maintaining a pleasant and clean dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operations of the dining room.
- Ensures smooth and timely opening of the dining room, including the facilitation of the pre-meal meeting.
- Coordinates staffing schedules to ensure staffing requirements are met on a daily basis.
- Assigns staff to designated sections and appropriate side work.
- Inspects cleaning and closing of the dining room.
- Provides supervision for special functions.
- Greets and seats residents and guests.
- Ensures consistently high-quality customer service in the dining room.
- Ensures appropriate check control and resident charge procedures.
- Maintains a work environment that is clean and presents a professional image.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
- Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
- Communicate in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some supervisory experience in food service preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry 30 lbs. and occasionally lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Must be able to frequently push/pull up to 30 lbs. and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Bending/twisting/stooping
- Reaching at or below the shoulder
- Frequently standing or walking
Pay
$18.50-$22 hourly, based on experience.
Schedule
Days and evenings, flexible to variable shifts. 11:00am-7:30pm
