Responsibilities
- Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures safely and efficiently.
- Assess patients thoroughly and document responses to renal failure and treatments.
- Adjust patient therapy based on observed changes and notify the nephrologist when necessary.
- Develop and implement care plans, collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
- Communicate significant information to the appropriate team members and ensure paperwork is completed accurately.
- Administer medications correctly and teach patients about their dosages and potential side effects.
- Obtain laboratory specimens and perform routine tests, interpreting results and discussing them with dietitians and nephrologists.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and follow through on delegated tasks.
- Assume primary nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Charge Nurse, including staffing and scheduling.
- Participate in the unit's Quality Assurance Program and contribute to performance improvement projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring confidentiality of patient, employee, and company information.
- Participate in in-service education programs and assist in the orientation of new staff members.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent.
- Current RN license for Kansas and current CPR certification (within three months of hire).
- One year of Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years preferred).
- Strong technical/computer proficiency with relevant software.
Qualifications
- Strong technical/computer proficiency with relevant software.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- Understanding of basic renal function and its consequences.
- Knowledge of ESRD and its treatment.
- Understanding of legal consequences of nursing actions.
- Ability to assess patients’ readiness to learn and plan appropriate teaching methods.
- Understanding of infection control practices and their legal implications.

Pay
$50.00 - $55.00 per hour, based on documented experience, qualifications, and market data.
Schedule
Full schedule ranging from five to fifteen hours per day, based on unit requirements.
