About the role
The RN Charge Nurse oversees nursing services each shift, acting as a nursing supervisor responsible for staff supervision and clinical operations.
Responsibilities
- Improve patient outcomes by assisting with clinical processes
- Manage supplies and labor
- Document medication profiles and administer medications
- Support physician rounds
- Assist with anemia management
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards
- Provide direct patient care, including safe dialysis when permitted
- Respond to emergencies
- Communicate patient assessments
- Collaborate with medical staff
- Participate in patient care planning
- Orient new staff
- Ensure policies and procedures are current
- Assist with staff hiring, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
Qualifications
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 12 months nursing experience including 3 months in dialysis
- CPR certification
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated leadership, good judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to perform in emergent situations
