About the role
Marian Oakland is seeking Cooks for its community in Farmington Hills. This position is part of Trinity Health Senior Communities, one of the nation’s largest, multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with established policies and procedures.
- Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
- Completes necessary forms, reports, etc., and submits to the Manager.
- Maintains and files menus in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with other departments as needed.
- Serves meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
- Affirms adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the Cook role.
- Establishes food service production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledgeable of dietary procedures.
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Maintains supplies, equipment, and dietary service areas.
- Performs regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of dietary procedures.
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Maintains supplies, equipment, and dietary service areas.
