About the role
Role Overview: The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit delivers high-quality, patient-centered care for stroke and seizure patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. The unit is a 16-bed comprehensive stroke and seizure unit, recognized as a top stroke center, offering ongoing education and opportunities for career growth. The role emphasizes teamwork, quality improvement, and patient safety in a specialized environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and evaluate nursing care, assisting with admissions, discharges, and patient rounding.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and training to staff, supporting performance improvement and engagement.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage patient care assignments based on needs.
- Mentor and guide new nurses, working closely with stroke and neurology teams to promote quality care.
- Monitor care quality, support best practice standards, and participate in unit councils to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- RN license with a diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of employment.
- Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
