Full Service Technician

About the role
The Full-Service Technician reconditions, reassembles, and tests transformers while adhering to all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies. You will read and follow work order instructions to rebuild transformers to customer specifications, gather and inspect parts and tools, and perform quality checks and basic testing before units leave the workstation.
Responsibilities
- Clean and inspect transformer components
- Replace gaskets, change oil, and perform basic repairs
- Perform quality checks and basic testing on units
- Safely operate shop equipment, overhead cranes, and material-handling tools
- Return equipment to proper locations after use
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation
- Read and interpret work orders
- Meet department and production goals
- Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations
- Notify management of safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries
- Complete company compliance and safety training as required
- Learn other department functions and fill in as needed
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED preferred
- Mechanical and transformer experience preferred
- OSHA10 certification preferred
- Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred
- Proven track record in safety excellence
- Strong work ethic, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Cooperative attitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Flexibility to work varied schedules
Physical requirements
- Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
- Stand and walk for long durations
- Bend, squat, and kneel repeatedly for extended periods
- Climb up and down a ladder multiple times
- Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
- Work comfortably in heat and cold (facilities are not climate-controlled)
