Full Service Technician
About the Role
As a Full Service Technician, you will be responsible for reconditioning, reassembly, and testing of polemount transformers. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies is essential. You will read and follow work order instructions to rebuild transformers to customer specifications, gather necessary parts and tools, and ensure they are in good working condition before use.
Responsibilities
- Clean and inspect transformer components
- Replace gaskets and change oil
- Perform basic repairs on polemount transformers
- Conduct quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation
- Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and return them to proper locations
- Operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation
- Adhere to all safety and environmental compliance regulations
- Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries
- Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED preferred
- Mechanical and transformer experience preferred
- Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret work orders
- Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment
- Adherence to company’s employee handbook policies and core values
- Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed
Physical Requirements
- Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
- Stand and walk for long durations
- Bend, squat, and kneel multiple times for extended periods
- Climb up and down a ladder multiple times
- Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
- Comfortable working in heat and cold due to non-climate-controlled manufacturing facilities
