Full-Cycle Payroll & Accounts Payable

Temporary assignment from approximately August 18 – September 25, 2026.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Full-Cycle Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to provide temporary coverage for an established company in Novato. The selected candidate will receive training before assuming the day-to-day responsibilities of the position. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional with construction, union payroll, job costing, and accounts payable experience.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for approximately 45 union employees and 35 field employees.
• Review and enter employee timecards.
• Process direct deposits and live payroll checks.
• Perform payroll job costing.
• Prepare and submit federal and state payroll tax payments.
• Administer wage garnishments and 401(k) deductions.
• Ensure compliance with union requirements and applicable labor regulations.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable.
• Enter and code vendor invoices.
• Process and distribute vendor payments.
• Reconcile invoices and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Maintain organized accounts payable documentation.

Requirements

• At least three years of full-cycle payroll experience.
• Construction payroll experience is strongly preferred.
• Union payroll and job costing experience required.
• Full-cycle accounts payable experience.
• Proficiency with SAGE 300.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Pay

$35 - $45 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift.
