We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a fast-paced construction-focused business in Riverside, California. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing day-to-day accounting independently, thrives in a direct communication environment, and can keep pace with high transaction volume.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full bookkeeping cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage high-volume and complex billing processes, including construction-related invoicing such as AIA billing and percentage-of-completion tracking.
- Prepare month-end financial reporting packages, including profit and loss statements and other key financial statements.
- Review accounting data and generate reports that support business visibility, cash flow monitoring, and informed decision-making.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing payments, follow up on outstanding balances, and maintain accurate records for both buyer- and seller-related transactions.
- Support construction accounting activities by handling documentation such as preliminary notices and lien releases with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain organized financial records within QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and ensure transactions are recorded correctly for an S-Corporation structure.
- Work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining strong accountability, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction or contractor-based business.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise in a high-volume accounting environment.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and bank reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including AIA billing, percentage-of-completion methods, preliminaries, and lien release processes.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports, including month-end statements and profit and loss reporting.
- Proven ability to manage collections, payment follow-up, and detailed account tracking with consistency.
- Comfortable working in a direct, fast-moving environment that requires confidence, professionalism, and sound judgment.
