FT Store Manager

Patina is a thriving lifestyle brand and retail leader with eight locations across the Minneapolis/St. Paul Twin Cities metro area. We specialize in curated home décor, jewelry, fragrance, stationery, gifts, and toys, all within an inspiring and ever-evolving retail environment. This is a unique opportunity to work for an employee owned local business that puts work-life balance as a priority for its team members. Patina is looking for a seasoned retail leader to oversee one of their higher volume locations in Maple Grove, MN. This individual will have the opportunity to be involved in multiple aspects of the business, partnering regularly with receiving, the buying team, and home office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations, a hands-on leadership mentality leading from the floor not the office, as well as a passion for training and development.

Responsibilities

• Assume visionary role: foresee and identify problems, find creative/positive solutions, react promptly
• Streamline functions to maximize efficiency
• Anticipate staffing needs, prepare monthly schedule, maintain employee records, and manage conflict
• Conduct interviews & performance evaluations
• Partner with leadership team on overseeing initial training and of all new Full Time and Part Time staff members & merchandisers, retrain on new policies/procedures
• Develop staff for professional growth: Build the bench
• Participate in store walk throughs
• Manage & direct store merchandiser to communicate visual objectives & provide redirection
• Provide excellent customer service, act as role model
• Open/close store according to store procedures, delegate daily duties to staff
• React to potential shrinkage concerns
• React timely to fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment
• Additional schedule availability required as workload dictates
• Act as first contact with alarm company & respond to alarm events
• Flexibility in working shifts at other store locations to fill-in as needed

Requirements

• Must have 3+ years previous retail management experience
• Commitment to customer service, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend/lift/reach/twist, go up/down stairs to retrieve merchandise, and lift or move up to 40 pounds
• Willingness to work on ladder
• Manual dexterity to run the point of sale registers
