Starting pay: $14.00 per hour. Average combined hourly plus commission ranges from $17.00 to $22.00.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering a great customer experience.
- Answer customer questions about product location, price, and use with expert knowledge.
- Follow instructions for customer requests while maintaining safety requirements.
- Analyze reports and make decisions on inventory purchasing, merchandise arrangement, and sales trends to meet SCHEELS standards.
- Stock shelves, tables, and counters while merchandising to SCHEELS standards; set up advertising and signage to promote sales.
- Communicate professionally with vendors and outside sales representatives.
- Train associates on product use and basic knowledge.
- Prepare for and facilitate product knowledge and sales meetings as directed.
- Attend weekly sales and product knowledge training meetings.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere, and follow SCHEELS policies.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
- Perform basic math operations involving currency, measurements, and percentages.
- Effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Promote the SCHEELS Visa Rewards card and clearly explain its benefits.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Follow all safety procedures to minimize the risk of injury.
