FT 1st Class Mechanic Shift 1 (4X10) - 982

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Class 8 tractor trailer semi units
• Maintain and repair equipment to operate a safe fleet
• Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations
• Preventive maintenance on brakes, rear trailer doors, structural welding, tires, suspension and axle work, electrical lighting, and engine repair

Requirements

• Possess a DOT health card
• Own a set of tools
• Computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems
• Vocational or Technical certification preferred
• Ability to perform vehicle diagnostics with the use of scan tools
• CDL required
• Must be able to attain CDL-A within 18 months of hire

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in fleet maintenance is preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of trucking regulations, computer skills for maintenance systems, and ability to perform vehicle diagnostics are beneficial.
