Essential Functions of the Job
- Officially releases all ingredients and finished goods.
- Performs micro duties such as plating and reading results against known specifications.
- Conducts various micro tests on powders, liquids, swabs, filters, and air samples.
- Performs preoperational inspections, including inspecting equipment and taking ATP and micro swabs.
- Carries out incoming ingredient analysis, including compositing samples and running chemical, micro, and physical tests.
- Generates Certificates of Analysis for finished products and tests in accordance with customer specifications.
- Takes aseptic samples from various ports on finished product bags for troubleshooting.
- Calibrates lab equipment and prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment and cooperates with other shifts and the management team in housekeeping endeavors.
- Completes various quality control audits throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Background in Food Science or Microbiology preferred.
- Two years’ experience in food manufacturing preferred.
- Basic keyboarding skills helpful but not necessary.
- Knowledge of basic math skills including weight calculations, averages, and percentages.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
