Position Overview

Can-One USA is seeking a Front End Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of equipment used in the early stages of our aluminum can manufacturing process. This position focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing front-end production equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, experience working with industrial machinery, and the ability to perform precision mechanical work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair front-end production equipment
  • Maintain equipment such as cuppers, body makers, trimmers, coil handling systems, and related machinery
  • Perform equipment tear-downs, rebuilds, adjustments, and precision reassembly
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair solutions
  • Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation
  • Operate machine shop equipment such as lathes, presses, and grinders when required
  • Assist with machine adjustments, equipment improvements, and maintenance projects
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow all company safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment
  • Experience performing equipment rebuilds and precision mechanical repairs
  • Machine shop experience
  • Experience with aluminum can manufacturing or similar production equipment

Schedule

  • Full-time 3rd shift
  • 12-hour shift schedule
  • Overtime may be available based on production needs

Physical & Work Environment

This is a hands-on maintenance position in a manufacturing environment. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods and may involve bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and working around operating industrial equipment. Employees must follow all applicable safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment in designated areas.
