About The Role

The Lead Front End Engineer at Capital One Software will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the company's marketing website, ensuring it is optimized for performance, accessibility, and user experience. This remote position requires a highly skilled engineer with a strong background in modern front-end technologies, particularly React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including content strategists, designers, and marketing professionals, to translate business objectives into seamless technical solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting scalable web solutions, implementing polished UI components, integrating third-party services such as analytics and CMS platforms, and ensuring the website adheres to best practices in SEO, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility standards. Additionally, the engineer will oversee deployment workflows, optimize development processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance website performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain the company's marketing website using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, ensuring high performance and scalability
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement pixel-perfect UI components with attention to detail
  • Integrate the website with third-party services including analytics, CMS, Marketo Forms, and A/B testing tools
  • Establish and maintain reliable staging and production deployment processes to ensure rapid and stable releases
  • Work closely with marketing stakeholders to translate campaign and product objectives into effective technical implementations
  • Optimize website performance by driving improvements in Core Web Vitals, SEO, and accessibility compliance
  • Govern and continuously refine development workflows, including branching strategies, release processes, and incident management
  • Monitor and improve website security, reliability, and user experience through ongoing analysis and updates

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not qualify)
  • At least 1 year of experience working with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong proficiency in React and Next.js, including familiarity with App Router, server components, and SSG/SSR strategies
  • Expertise in TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and building responsive, accessible UI components
  • Experience integrating with headless CMS platforms and third-party APIs
  • Proven ability to collaborate with marketing and design teams, translating business needs into technical solutions
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Contentful CMS
  • Familiarity with design systems such as Figma and ShadCn UI
