About the role
This job listing is for Summer 2026, with employment possibly extending into Fall 2026/Spring 2027. Federal Work Study eligibility is preferred for Summer 2026 and required for the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist visitors, students, faculty, and staff when they come to ISS.
- Receive and transfer phone calls and messages in the office.
- Schedule appointments.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- General clerical duties such as filing, typing letters or documents, proof reading, data entry, scanning, faxing, photocopying, shredding, and stocking meeting rooms and office supply cabinet.
- Assist other office personnel with projects when needed.
- Aid in maintaining a clean and neat office (straightening publications and bookshelves, vacuuming, dusting, watering plants, recycling, and other cleaning tasks).
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Available to work 10-20 hours per week during the summer semester.
- Demonstrated engagement with international communities through documented activities and interactions, as evidenced in application materials.
- Eligible for Federal Work Study for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligible for Federal Work Study for summer 2026.
- Available to work a minimum of 8-13 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
- Strong attention to detail, as evidenced in application materials and interview.
- Experience in an office setting or in a customer service role, as evidenced in application materials.
- Familiarity with scanning documents, as demonstrated in application materials.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook, as demonstrated in application materials.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Zoom, as demonstrated in application materials.
Position Requirements
- Employment Conditions: This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
