Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients while providing excellent customer service
- Verify patient demographics, insurance, referrals, and authorizations
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the EMR system
- Colecct co-pays, outstanding balances, and self-pay payments
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Check out patients and coordinate follow-up appointments
- Answer and route incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Communicate with insurance companies, primary care providers, and referring physicians
- Scan and upload patient documents into electronic medical records
- Post charges and maintain accurate patient billing records
- Fax visit notes and documentation to referring providers as needed
- Maintain office supplies and support daily front office operations
- Complete end-of-day closing tasks
- Aid in training new front desk staff
- Communicate scheduling updates with providers and office management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English)
- 1-2 years of customer service or medical front office experience preferred
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of medical insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills
- Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Able to handle patient concerns and resolve conflicts professionally
- Basic computer and office software proficiency
