Front Desk Receptionist

Elite DNA Therapy Services is one of the largest providers of behavioral and mental health services in Florida, expanding quickly in Virginia. Our Dothan, AL location is hiring a Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist to support our mission of excellent patient care through a collaborative culture.
As the Front Desk Receptionist, you will supervise the receptionist staff, ensuring professional handling of patient greetings, phone calls, and clerical duties. Elite DNA pioneered a care coordination approach to mental health, matching patients with ideal services and providers before direct care. Our services include psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation, EMDR, and group therapy.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in person or by telephone, explaining services, payment categories, and billing procedures.
- Schedule appointments and direct walk-in patients and emergencies according to established policies.
- Answer and route all incoming calls to the appropriate staff.
- Register patients per protocols and collect all required documentation.
- Generate and ensure completion of required patient documents.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, compute charges, and collect deposits, co-pays, or deductibles.
- Inform patients of outstanding balances, collect payments, and issue receipts.
- Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to ensure smooth patient flow and reduce wait times.
- Call and remind patients of appointments; follow up on no-shows daily.
- Communicate patient problems or complaints to the clinic manager.
- Refer patients who missed appointments to clinic managers for follow-up.
- Maintain strong sensory skills (visual acuity, hearing, dexterity) and ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the workday.

Requirements
- High school graduate/GED or formal training from a vocational school.
- One year of medical experience in a similar setting.
- Friendly personality with a desire to work with the public.
- Ability to treat all patients with kindness and consideration, even in challenging situations.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, move, and/or carry up to 15 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform focused work.
- Proficiency in operating office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, phones) and typing at least 35 wpm.
- Ability to interact professionally in person, by phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedures.
- Ability to relate to diverse patients regardless of ethnic, religious, or economic status.
- Commitment to healthcare with dignity for all.
Skills
- Good speaking and listening skills.
- Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of community-based organizations.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
