Front Desk Agent - Second Shift

About the role

The Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel blends eclectic, modern design with upscale amenities, including a rooftop pool, Club Lounge, and locally inspired dining at Latitude 41 and Bar 41. Located in the heart of Columbus, the hotel offers easy access to landmarks like the Ohio Theatre, German Village, and the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register guests, completing the registration process including inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirming guest information and room rate, and selecting rooms.
• Code electronic keys and assist guests with check-out, ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted.
• Use the point-of-sale system, handle money, process credit and debit cards, accept and record various forms of payment, convert foreign currency, make change, and process gift certificates and cards.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel information, including room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area, and other general product knowledge to answer guest questions and inquiries.
• Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and maximize room occupancy.
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests, resolve issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner, and field guest complaints by conducting research and negotiating solutions for guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Front Desk Agent in a hotel or in a high volume industry dealing with customers.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service and a commitment to ensuring guest satisfaction and enhancing their experience.
• Excellent computer skills and a strong team spirit.
• Availability for early evenings and weekends.
• Marriott brand experience is a plus.
