Front Desk Agent Overnight - IHG Army Hotels - San Antonio,TX

About the Role

We are seeking a Front Desk Agent for an overnight, full-time position at the MA - Foulois House - Historia hotel in San Antonio, TX. This role is specifically open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The hiring salary ranges from USD 16.20 to 21.92 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner.
• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location.
• Answer phones promptly and courteously.
• Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue.
• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions according to established procedures, including posting charges, completing reports, and preparing deposits.
• Complete and transmit daily accounting reports for review by hotel management.
• Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management for follow-up.
• Respond appropriately to guest complaints and make service recovery gestures to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Book guest reservations, process cancellations, revisions, and updates as requested.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including guest room tours, concierge services, and special guest requests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus one year of front desk/guest service experience.
• Some college preferred.
• Fluent in English; additional languages preferred.

Requirements

• Frequently stand behind the desk and front office areas.
• Carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Handle objects, products, and computer equipment.
• Use a keyboard to operate property management and reservations systems.
• Strong communication, reading, writing, and basic math skills.
• Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities.
• Ability to work the overnight shift, as well as other shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
