Freezer Operator (TDC) (4)

About the role

This position is responsible for maintaining freezers and operating motor-powered equipment in an environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 34 degrees Fahrenheit. You will be required to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds. Personal Prote Equipment (PPE), including a freezer suit, gloves, and headwear, will be provided. Training and licensing as a professional forklift operator will also be provided.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and/or vacuum vestibules, aisles, and bays in cold storage freezer
• Sweep and/or vacuum dock
• Clean and return equipment
• Clean walls of vestibules, dock, cold storage freezer, and vestibule curtains
• Pick up and properly dispose of all debris on floors of dock and in cold storage freezer
• Stack up and place all bad pallets in designated area
• Place all trash in compactor
• Place all condemned and/or exposed product to rework area
• Report all damaged product to supervisor
• Train on other jobs in facility
• Follow all safety rules
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements

• Willing to tolerate continuous physical labor in a cold (-10°F), humid environment for 9-11 hours per day
• Willing to lift up to 50 pounds to stack pallets on a continual basis for 9-11 hours per day
• Willing to perform proper lifting techniques, including continually bending at the knees to lift with the legs and pivoting to avoid twisting for 9-11 hours per day
• Willing to work quickly and efficiently for 9-11 hours per day
• Willing to walk extensively while manually sweeping and reaching underneath bays for 9-11 hours per day

Requirements

• Three months of employment history in the last six months with one continuous employer
• Forklift experience preferred
• Proficiency in reading and writing
• Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels

Schedule

A-Shift: Sunday – Tuesday: 0600-1800, Wednesday: 0600-1200
